Case study
This apartment has been in the same family for generations – passing from grandfather, to parents, and finally to the grandchildren. Today, one of the descendants has decided to make it their permanent home. The goal of our project was to refresh the space and give it a modern character, without losing its roots or identity.
We began by inventorying the antique furniture. At every turn, the owners revealed new family treasures to us. Most of them spent several months in a restoration workshop, recovering their former glory to begin a ‘second life.’
The apartment’s layout was completely reorganized for better functionality. We managed to create an additional home office, and the kitchen was relocated to open up directly into the living area. As a result, the interior – previously characterized by a long, enfilade-style layout – has become far more functional and comfortable for daily life. This home has been retold – with respect for the past and the courage to write the present into its history.
